Reworked Denim

I have reworked a couple of denim pieces and am working on some other clothing pieces. I had fun doing these and think they turned out great! They are for sale in my Etsy Shop.

I'm Back

Wow! It's been almost a month since I have written anything here. I have been very busy completing a project for a competition. The piece is a collage involving one of my great passions. Books have been a huge part of my life since I can remember and they remain so today.

Spring!...Finally

Spring has finally arrived in my part of the world. Thank goodness....I don't think I could have waited much longer. I'm still busy working on a project for a competiiton, the deadline is May 24 and I think I'm on schedule but I really can't think of doing anything else until I get this finished. I'll put the finished piece up here when it's finally done.

Here I Am

I haven't been here in a while. Very busy at my 'other' job and am working on a big project that has a deadline.
Spring was here but woke up AGAIN to a huge snowstorm....SIGH

Snowy Saturday

Well we had one day of spring and now we are having a huge snow storm...it seems this winter will never be done. Having said that I am working on a summery tropical collage....wishful thinking!!

Monday Monday

Well, today is the last day of my vacation....back to work tomorrow...sigh..

Sunday Afternoon

Whenever I start out to make a collage it always...always turns into something unexpected. I start with one idea and another just takes over.I just finished a piece that took off in a crazy direction....I'll put the photo up soon...hope you're having a lazy, happy Sunday. That's what Sundays are for!

It's Friday!!

Not that it really matters what day of the week it is when you are on vacation! I am so enjoying my time off although the weather is totally NOT co-operating with me.....snow snow and more snow...anyway...I am working on some new, bigger projects and am excited to be working on something larger. I found this great illustration on a vintage pattern package the other day....

Wednesday

So enjoying my vacation. Went to the library yesterday and found so many sale magazines I wanted I could hardly carry them home! 10 cents each and they were Art Magazines! I've got to go back and get more. LOL!
I've been working as well and finally got some photos taken. A cute little pillow and a small box.

Will This Winter Never End??

More snow this morning....My goodness but this winter is dragging on! The good news is that I'm on vacation! 9 whole days off and lots of time to work on all of my projects. I have a list a mile long!

Late Night Thursday

Back to work today and this is my night to work late so it's a loooong day.... I finished this wall hanging yesterday and just love it! The page is from a 1938 copy of a Book called 'Hints on Girl Guide Badges'.

Spring Has Sprung!

Well at least I hope spring is here! It feels like it but you never know...it could snow again. Still have a bad cold and even came home early from work yesterday. I've finished a few more art pieces...check them out on my Etsy Shop!

Sundays' Child

I really am a Sunday Child...having been born on a Sunday...anyway, Sunday's child managed to finish some work today and get it photographed. Like everyone, I am sure, it is so hard to fit everything into a day....Here is my latest Mixed Media Collage - 'Party Dress'.....hope you like! I have finished some other pieces that I will put in my Etsy shop tomorrow.

Friday Morning

Yesteday as the day went on I realized I was geeting a cold. I haven't had a cold in over a year.....must be this terrible weather we're having. Winter just won't go away! It was pretty nice yesterday and this morning it's winter again. A lot of people are sick with colds and the flu...I think we're all just sick of the weather!

Wedneday Morning

I like to work with recycled materials. I've always thought there is just too much 'stuff' in the world, so to be able to 'repurpose' is fantastic! I stopped by my favorite thrift store yesterday and it was a treasure trove of goodies! I found ribbon, vintage hankies, lace bits and lots of this and that to inspire me. When I sit down to work,  sometimes I have an idea in mind and sometimes it's just a color or a fabric that I start with and the piece I'm working on seems to create itself! The weather has warmed up a bit here....hope the sun is shining where you are.

Sunny Sunday

A sunny day and best of all a day off!! Found some great 'bits and bobs' at the Flea Market this morning. Also managed to finish a couple of pieces and here they are.....

It's Saturday!

I've been very busy at my 'other' work but have managed to finish a few pieces which I should have in my Etsy shop this weekend. The weather continues to be cold, cold, cold, so here is another of my photos to warm us up! It was taken at a friends house in Mexico.

Wednesday Morning

After 2 great days off (although it is still freezing cold here) I have to get back to my job. I had a productive couple of days. I finished a couple of pieces and have 2 more that are just about there. Here is my latest collage.....reminds me of spring!

Collecting

I'm a collector. One of my favorite thnigs to collect are vintage scarves. They really are works of art. I have a large collection of 'tourist' scarves from all over the world. Hawaii, Italy, Paris, Cuba....too many to mention. Here are a few of my favorites!

Brrrrrr...

It is -32 degrees this morning! Good grief...will this never end? A friend called from Mexico this morning and told me it was a little chilly and she was wearing a sweater....lol.....Anyway, have been working on a couple more collages and hopefully will have them finished soon. Hard to fit the time in...but I have to as this is what keeps me sane! Here's another of my Flower photo's. I took this one a couple of years ago in Mexico.

Back to the 'Real' World

Well, I have to head back to work today. Having 3 days off in a row has been fantastic. At least it will make for a short work week! Here is the collage I finished yesterday...

Holiday!

It's 'Family Day' today and my third day off in a row from work. What a treat! Went out and about yesterday and found some interesting fabrics. I'm working on another collage and have lots of other ideas whirling around. More snow here...sigh....here's another one of my flower photographs to cheer us up!

Long Weekend - Yippee!

I have 3 days off in a row....what a treat! Lots of time to work on my projects and make some order in my life! I dream of visiting Paris and that was the inspiration for this collage. It's for sale in my Etsy Shop!
